Joe Rogan recently posted on X about his experiences driving home using Tesla FSD. The celebrity podcaster celebrated the Tesla for its road manners and what it was able to do on a drive home. Frankly, it’s much-needed good press for the brand and its self-driving tech.

Television presenter and podcaster Joe Rogan touted his Tesla FSD experience, calling it ‘F****** wild’

Joe Rogan isn’t known for his subtlety. His podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” is No. 2 on Spotify’s rankings of podcasts in the US. Rogan routinely stirs the pot on his show, hosting topical and sometimes controversial guests, like Tesla CEO Elon Musk

But Musk and Rogan have more in common than the podcast; Rogan, aside from frequently posting cheerful words about the DOGE head, owns a Tesla. He recently posted on X, formerly Twitter, about his experience using Tesla full self-driving (FSD) to get home.

“I had my Tesla Model S drive me home the other day with FSD, and it’s f******* wild,” Rogan posted on X. He then commended the luxury EV’s road manners while using its FSD suite. “Changes lanes to avoid slow traffic, stops at red light, hits the blinkers, and turns for you. It’s bananas.”

The post spread like COVID. Since he posted the supportive review, social media-goers viewed it over 40 million times. That’s not all, either. Musk left a single-word response, with another view count higher than the population of Saudi Arabia. “Cool,” the Tesla CEO and DOGE head responded.

However, the Tesla FSD news hasn’t been quite so complimentary as of late. Most recently, Tesla announced that it would retrofit HW3 vehicles with the FSD package. That could put the number at somewhere around 500,000 vehicles in need of retrofitting. That’s despite the automaker’s claim that every new EV from 2016 on had “all the hardware necessary for full self-driving.”

Musk himself calls the prospect of updating the vehicles “painful and difficult.” However, the CEO says the automaker will “get it done.” In another, more cartoon-ish example of the self-driving function falling short, a YouTuber fooled his Tesla with a painted wall. In a comparison test, his pre-facelift Model Y slammed through the wall like Wile E. Coyote pursuing the Road Runner.
