Ohio truck driver drops phone and injures 7 while picking it up
Look, I know that as a society, we’re addicted to our phones. But if you drop yours while driving, wait until you pull over to pick it up. That text or meme can wait. Otherwise, you could end up like this Ohio truck driver who dropped her phone and injured seven people.
Ohio truck driver drops phone before dangerous wreck
A 24-year-old was driving a 2012 GMC Sierra when she dropped her phone. As the truck driver reached to pick it up, she lost control of the vehicle.
She ran off the right shoulder of the road and crashed into a Ford F-150. The Ford truck was parked on the side of the road.
Police officers immediately responded to the scene at Prescott and Litchfield Avenue. The incident occurred at 4:36 AM, making me wonder why so many people were out and about.
Were they getting an early start to Sunday morning or coming home after partying? Also, what’s so important on your phone in the middle of the night?
Anyway, the GMC driver had two passengers with her, and the F-150 had four passengers. According to WHIO, all seven people were transported to local hospitals.
They had minor injuries and their current conditions are unknown. The name of the GMC driver hasn’t been released as there is an ongoing investigation.
Reportedly, she was cited for failure to control. I would like to know if the truck was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. But unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for more information to be released.
