There’s no denying that Toyota makes some of the best trucks to buy. However, it’s also known that some of its models, the Tundra specifically, have had some disappointing reliability issues. There is even a car recall for it. Now, one man says his 2022 Toyota Tundra suffered engine failure and now he’s left with three undesirable options for his next course of action to remedy his car problems.

According to Torque News, one of their readers recently reached out with a story about the engine in their Toyota Tundra failing. Notably, the man had a 2022 model for which he paid around $60k. Sadly, one day, he was driving down the road with his daughter when he all of a sudden began to experience severe car problems. Specifically, he says that the truck began to lose power, forcing him to make snap decisions in order to pull over.

Eventually, the man ended up calling a tow truck as a result of his car problems. From there, he called the dealership and attempted to do a trade-in. However, he learned that the Toyota dealer was only going to offer $35k for the trade. He bought it two years ago. Of course, there is a car recall for the vehicle, which would fix his issues. Sadly, it would take months to get a new engine. This length of time makes the recall a bit useless in the meantime. 

So, the car problems have left the Toyota Tundra owner with only three options. He can trade in the truck for a new one, he can wait months for a new engine, or he can sell it to the dealer for the $35k.
