Fort Worth police engaged in a pursuit after a neighbor’s disturbing report of abuse. The pursuit ended with a criminal in handcuffs. Tragically, his roommate’s fate was much, much worse.

Fort Worth police initiated a pursuit and arrested a man after he said he ‘harmed’ his roommate, who authorities found deceased

Fort Worth police officers responded to reports of a Texas man who told his neighbor he had ‘harmed’ his roommate. As the officers reached Stockton Drive, they noticed the suspect driving past and attempted to stop him. The 30-year-old driver refused to stop. And just like that, the call turned into a pursuit between police officers and a wayward suspect.

The suspect, Dylan Mclean, led police on a 38-minute pursuit, per WFAA. However, before Mclean could continue to lead law enforcement on a wild goose chase, the pursuit came to an end in Hurst, Texas, near a Lowe’s storefront. Police officers then used tasers to subdue Mclean and arrest him.

The details surrounding the end of the chase are thin at best. Often, police officers will use tactics like the Precision Immobilization Technique, or “PIT maneuver” to force suspect vehicles to lose control. Unfortunately, PIT maneuvers and tire deflation devices like spike strips will sometimes result in crashes that could put bystanders at risk. In this case, there are no reports of bystander injuries when police used spike strips to stop Mclean. Of course, Mclean likely didn’t feel great after a taser shock or two.

While other officers were chasing Mclean, Fort Worth police officers searched Mclean’s apartment, looking for the aforementioned roommate. Tragically, they found 28-year-old Ariel Levy deceased inside the apartment.
Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens from time to time. Recently, police officers in El Cajon, California, chased a suspect in a Hyundai Sonata. Surprisingly, when the cops stopped the suspect, arrested him, and inspected the car, they found a 51-year-old woman’s body in the trunk.
