Test drive gone wrong: Lamborghini salesman begs cops, “Arrest this guy!”
Imagine you’re a Georgia police officer, just cruising down the highway. Out of nowhere, a bright yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Performante comes roaring up behind you, slams on its brakes inches from your bumper, and—before you can even process what’s happening—downshifts and blasts past, missing your mirror by a hair. Then, as if this isn’t absurd enough, the convertible’s well-dressed passenger starts waving wildly at you, shouting, “Arrest this guy!” You realize the Lamborghini has dealer plates–is this a test drive gone wrong?
No, this isn’t a deleted scene from a comedy movie. This actually happened during what might go down as the worst Lamborghini test drive ever, as told by former Lamborghini salesman Ed Bolian.
The customer nobody wanted to deal with
It started like any normal Saturday—until a guy who’d been hounding the dealership for a Lamborghini test drive for weeks walked through the doors again. Bolian described him as “an exceedingly unpleasant person.” Bolian had already denied the pesky man test drives multiple times, mostly because it was clear he wasn’t serious about buying anything.

But on that busy morning, the customer got under the manager’s skin. Annoyed, the manager turned to Bolian and said, “Go get the keys, get it out of here.”
So Bolian ended up strapping in next to the worst driver he’d ever encounter. The car? A yellow 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Performante—powerful, expensive, and definitely not a toy.
Chaos erupts during the Lamborghini test drive
The Lamborghini dealership’s test drive route was simple: mostly right turns, no surprises, and no left turns—insurance-approved safe driving. Bolian handled the first half calmly, showing the guy how the car worked. So far, so good.
Then they swapped seats in a parking deck. That’s when things turned chaotic.
“This guy goes absolutely insane,” Bolian recalls. “Immediately, full acceleration, hard braking, upsetting the balance of the car.” Bolian tried to rein him in. “Dude, this is not how we’re gonna drive,” he said. “You can try to experience the car, but this is not how we’re gonna behave.”
It didn’t help. The man ignored him, flooring it to 130, then 140 mph, weaving in and out of traffic.
Bolian spotted a cop car up ahead and thought he was saved. “Sir, there’s a cop. Let’s just behave ourselves,” he pleaded.
The man’s response? A flat, “No.”

Before Bolian could stop him, the driver downshifted, floored the throttle, and screamed toward the police car. “He slams on the brakes and comes within inches of this cop’s rear bumper,” Bolian says.
Surely this would end the nightmare. The officer would pull them over. But the cop didn’t react.
The driver turned to Bolian, grinning. “Watch this,” he said.
Bolian begged him to stop. “No, no, no, please don’t.”
The driver ignored him, dropping gears again, rocketing past the police cruiser, and nearly clipping its mirror.
Bolian turned to the officer, waving frantically, and shouting, “Arrest this guy!” Still, no response.
“I am invincible,” the driver declares
As the Lamborghini roared away, the driver smirked. “I am invincible,” he declared.
Bolian, terrified, shot back, “Uh, well I’m not.” At that moment, he was certain the car—and his life—were seconds away from a disaster.
Somehow, miraculously, the Lamborghini test drive didn’t end in flames. They made it back to the dealership in one piece.
The driver climbed out, dusted himself off, and said, “Let me think about it. I’ll call you if I decide I want to buy it.”
Bolian, still rattled, walked back into the dealership. His coworkers had one question: “Well, is he gonna buy it?”
Bolian’s response said it all: “You guys have got to be kidding me.”
