It’s a good thing that Taylor Swift is a musical legend because she might not have many other talents to fall back on. For example, despite having luxurious trucks, SUVs, and cars, she’s not the best driver. She struggled with her first car.

What was Taylor Swift’s first car?

Instead of getting a brand new car like most drivers do around age 16 or 17, Taylor Swift got a hand-me-down.

She got her parent’s 2006 Hummer H2 to use around Tennessee. This massive SUV isn’t the best option for new drivers because of its intimidating size.

While it imply has space for up to six passengers, it’s nearly 16 feet long and nearly seven feet wide. Plus, it weighs 6,400 lbs. Critics often knocked the Hummer H2 for being too wide to drive.

Any 16-year-old would have an easier time in something smaller. However, Taylor persisted. She shared that she finally got her permit after failing her driving test three times.

Perhaps the size of the Hummer H2 and the lack of modern features such as a reverse camera, 360-degree camera, rear-cross traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, and more made the test more complicated.

The H2 has a 6.0-liter V8 engine with 325 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of power, but this SUV is no speed demon. It takes about 10 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.

So Taylor’s parents didn’t have to worry about her being a speed demon. However, they did have to worry about her stopping the big beast in time.

In an interview she admitted that she can drive in a straight line, but doesn’t like stop signs. Taylor Swift also told her mother Andrea, that if she’s driving then she couldn’t stop her. That’s quite the rebellious attitude for a new driver.

Now things have come full circle as Travis Kelce owns a brand new GMC Hummer EV. It’s unclear if he’s a better driver, but Taylor has improved over the years.

The electric Hummer is still massive but has a nimble CrabWalk mode, automated parking, a 360-degree camera, rare automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic braking, and SuperCruise.
