This story isn’t about a hit-and-run. It’s about a hit and drop-off. An SUV driver in Florida when she struck a pedestrian on the side of the road. Then she gave him a ride to a gas station, which is much better than justleaving someone on the pavement.

Florida SUV driver hits a man and takes him to gas station

A man was standing on a dark section of Nokomis road when he was hit by an SUV driver. The driver didn’t see him as her mirror slammed into his arm.

The incident occurred several miles west of Highway 97 in Davisville. According to North Escambia, the woman driving didn’t see the man in the darkness. This section of the road doesn’t have street lights and visibility is reduced due to a small hill.

Reportedly, the woman knew the man and gave him a ride to a local gas station. He was taken to the Marathon at the corner of Highway 97 and Nokomis Road. Then the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The injuries to his arm were non life-threatening. Paramedics, firefighters, and police officers arrived at the scene to provide assistance and figure out what happened. There is an ongoing investigation.

It’s unclear if the woman will be charged or why the man was standing in the road. Local drivers shared that they often see the man in the middle of Nokomis Road at night.

Perhaps he needs a visibility vest or headlamp. Plus, he could find another place to hang out in the dark. Either way, drivers should slow down and always pay attention.
