
This stolen SUV filled with guns didn’t get far in Miami after hitting a bus
A driver of a stolen SUV made things much worse for himself after fleeing the cops. He failed to get away due to hitting a city bus. Then police officers found that the SUV was carrying rifles, adding more to a long list of charges.
Miami man hits a bus with a stolen SUV
First responders quickly responded to the scene after a stolen SUV crashed into a bus in the area of Northwest 71st Street and 21st Avenue around 8:05 pm.
Witnesses noted that a silver Honda CR-V raced through the area at a high rate of speed before slamming into the Miami-Dade Metrobus.
Police officer, Kaira Delve confirmed that an undercover unit attempted to pull the SUV over, but it fled the scene.
She shared that a few of the bus passengers were injured, so the Miami-Dade Fire Department arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Two people were transported to the Jackson Ryder Trauma Center.
A local witness was in her home when she noticed the SUV speeding through her neighborhood. Then she heard a loud band and watched multiple police cars arrive on the scene. A helicopter was spotted flying over the incident.
Micheal Parker was a passenger on the bus at the time. He said it sounded like the Honda SUV was speeding, then it hit the bus pretty hard. He was slung against the side of the bus and then started smelling smoke.
According to Local 10, upon recovering the stolen vehicle, officers found four rifles. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but it seems like the driver lost control while traveling at high speeds.
The names of the driver and injured passengers as well as their condition have not been released. Also, the Honda CR-V sustained considerable damage. It’s probably totaled.
