Stellantis is recalling over 300,000 Ram trucks for a critical braking issue
This hasn’t been the best year for Stellantis and its cars when it comes to sales. Now, the automaker is issuing a new car recall for more than 300,000 units of some of the most popular Ram trucks that could have issues with braking and stability. Of course, auto mechanics at Ram dealerships will fix the problem for free.
Stellantis and its cars are no strangers to a car recall
No one wants to deal with a car recall. This is the case for both automakers and vehicle owners. However, according to The Associated Press, Stellantis is recalling 317,630 Ram trucks over an issue with the hydraulic control unit. Specifically, the unit is prone to failure, which could cause problems with the anti-lock brakes, traction control, and electronic stability control system.
So, which trucks are included with the car recall from Stellantis? It impacts the Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 from 2017 and 2018. Naturally, this problem with the hydraulic control unit can present massive safety issues for people who drive these trucks. Luckily, the regular braking system isn’t impacted by this recall.
Of course, as mentioned, auto mechanics at Ram dealerships will fix the issue for free. Impacted owners can look for a notification letter from Stellantis regarding when they can get the repair. People with questions regarding this car recall can call 1-800-853-1403.
Sadly, this recall comes after numerous layoffs, low sales for Stellantis cars, and the CEO quitting on a Sunday. Hopefully, things will take a more positive turn for the company in the new year.
