A Florida woman is in hot water for breaking the state’s relatively new excessive speeding law. She reportedly hit 103 mph, exceeding at least one of the law’s criteria. But that wasn’t the Dodge Charger driver’s only crime. She also had three children aboard, including one infant left totally unsecured.

If breaking Florida’s new Super Speeder law wasn’t enough, the driver had an unsecured infant and two other children in the car

A short social media video shows a black, post-facelift Dodge Charger speeding on surface streets in Orange County, Florida. It didn’t take long for the police to pull the driver over.

The driver was 34-year-old Asia Clark-Campbell, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office says they caught her going 103 mph in a 45 mph zone, well over twice the posted speed limit. Let’s just say Clark-Campbell wasn’t going to be talking herself out of a ticket. And that was before she led police on a short pursuit.

To make matters worse, she had three children in the V8-powered sedan at the time: a 12-year-old, a seven-year-old, and an eight-month-old infant. Body cam footage shows police checking the vehicle after stopping the speeder, just to find that the infant was seated in the child seat, but not secured in any fashion. Yikes.

Fortunately, none of the children were injured. As for Clark-Campbell, authorities charged her with excessive speed, child neglect, expired registration, and other charges related to her recklessness behind the wheel.

The Florida woman reportedly told authorities she was “being chased by a BMW and an Audi. However, they found no indication that anyone other than the deputies was chasing her.

Florida is cracking down on speeding

Needless to say, Clark-Campbell picked the wrong time to try her hand at speeding. Florida recently started enforcing a “Super Speeder” law to crack down on excessive speeding. As part of the law, police can arrest drivers on the spot for driving at over 100 mph or exceeding the posted speed limit by 50 mph.

In this case, Clark-Campbell doubled down on her reckless speeding by driving 103 mph in a 45 mph zone.
