You might have missed your chance to snag an insane deal on the Tesla Cybertruck. A software glitch temporarily reduced the price to $0. This didn’t stop other people from trying to jump on the deal before it was corrected.

The Tesla Cybertruck briefly cost $0

Imagine getting a free truck due to a software glitch! That was possible for drivers wanting the Tesla Cybertruck for a little while last night.

According to Torque News, Tesla accidentally lowered the starting price of the base model to $0.00. A man from Bowie, Maryland was building his dream truck in the configurator when his purchase price for a Cybertruck AWD was $0.

However, pricing for add-ons such as the $7,000 self-driving software was normal. Prices were higher trim levels were also priced as normal. The performance model starts at $99,990 while the base model normally rings in at $79,990.

The man made the mistake of posting the glitch online to a Cybertruck forum before finalizing his purchase of the $0 base model.

When he typed in all his information and clicked ‘ORDER,’ the app refreshed and displayed pricing as normal. The glitch has been patched and the site shows Cybertruck pricing as normal.

While others laugh and poke fun at Tesla for this ridiculous glitch, others are worried. Elon Musk calls himself ‘White House Tech Support’ but almost sold Cybertruck models at no cost.

Also, as Cybertruck sales decline prices and deals have been released. For example, you can now lease one for $999 a month or finance one at 5.29% APR for 72 months, bringing the monthly payment down to $1,300 for the base model.

Discounts range between $1,600 to $2,600 for demo versions of the trucks still sitting in inventory.
