New rumors claim the Toyota Corolla truck will start at $25,000
Spending time in the rumor mill can be fun if the conversation is about trucks. Toyota has entered the chat by teasing us about its new compact truck. There could be a new Toyota Corolla truck that starts around $25,000 soon.
The Toyota Corolla truck might start at $25,000
Through pestering those who work at Toyota dealerships, I have learned about a new compact truck that will fight the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz with a cheaper starting price.
I’m still hunting for official documents from Toyota, but rumors suggest that the Toyota Corolla truck is coming soon with a starting price of around $25,000.
At the moment, the 2025 Ford Maverick starts at $26,295 and the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz has an MSRP of $28,650. The Ram Dakota is also entering the market soon, but it will be a mid-size option.
The Ford Maverick is based on the Escape and the Hyundai Santa Cruz is based on the Tucson. The new Toyota truck, which might be called the Toyota Stout will follow in their tracks as it’s based on the Corolla.
Heck, the Maverick title was taken from an old sedan, so what’s the problem with repurposing the Corolla badge? The Toyota Corolla Cross already applies the name to an SUV.
The Corolla Cross has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. I hope the truck version has a little more juice. But the Corolla Cross Hybrid cranks out 196 hp, which is a solid amount of power for a tiny truck.
Some sources claim that the new truck will emerge in 2025. However, other sources, like Car and Driver, think it will come out in 2027. Either way, there’s something in the works to get excited about.
