Rivian is still in trouble as it loses almost $40,000 on each vehicle it sells
Rivan makes some of the best trucks to buy for those wanting all-electric options. They’re stylish and also deliver solid amount of power. However, Rivian has not been profitable. It has long been said that Rivian loses a ton of money on each sale. Sadly, a new report says this is still true and has worsened.

Nowadays, people looking for the best trucks to buy also have electric options. Of course, this includes the Ford F-150 Lightning, but the same is true for Rivian vehicles. However, it’s not easy for EV companies to turn profits. This is because sales are still lower than those of gas-powered options, and EVs are expensive to produce.
According to Jalopnik, Rivan is facing a significant issue despite producing one of the best trucks to buy. A new report says that the automaker produced over 13,000 all-electric vehicles in the three months leading up to the end of September. This is a win, but the losses come in when you learn that the company lost a reported $1.1 billion in that same period.
The good news is that this loss is down a bit from last year. However, it also means that Rivian is losing about $39,000 on each vehicle it manages to sell. It’s also important to note that Rivian sold 10,018 units within the three months leading up to the end of September. However, this marks a 36 percent decline from the year before. Notably, production was also down by about 19 percent. The company hopes to produce between 47,000 and 49,000 vehicles by the end of the year, which would be down from the 57,000 vehicles it hoped to build.
