POV: 1st time putting gas in your brand-new Ford F-150 Raptor
The truck owner starts out happy enough. It’s Nicholas Sakha, an insurance guy who posts silly content on his social media. He has an F-150 Raptor, and decided to show us exactly how it felt to fill it up for the first time.
The F-150 Raptor has a 36-gallon fuel tank
That’s premium, y’all…91 Octane or above.
Sakha’s reel begins with a cheery tune and contented expression. Soon, though, the tone changes.
The pump hits 70 bucks, but he’s only filled the F-150 Raptor about halfway.
By the time the filler shuts off, we see dang near all of the stages of grief from Sakha. The total? $137 for about 29.8 gallons.
I don’t own a gas-guzzling truck, but I found the reel flat-out hilarious and really well done.
It looks like Sakha purchased the Raptor in January. He posted about trading in his Tesla for it at the beginning of the year.
The truck gets an estimated 18 mpg highway
If you’re looking for something from Ford that’s gas-powered and more efficient, it’s out there. However, you’ll sacrifice performance and space. The Ranger gets 25 mpg highway while the Maverick touts 30 mpg highway.
The lesson here is to make sure you understand what F-150 Raptor (or any truck) ownership really looks and feels like before bringing one home.
