Police officers recover 2 out of 15 stolen Stellantis vehicles

A Stellantis plant in Toledo, Ohio was hit hard as criminals made off with 15 vehicles. The Toledo Police Department sprang into action, chasing SUVs and trucks all over the state.

Some drivers even crossed the state line, into Michigan, so the Monroe County Sheriff’s office jumped in to help recover stolen cars.

As Toledo officers reported that stolen vehicles were heading north on I-75, Monroe officers set up along the side of the highway.

One driver in a stolen 2025 Dodge Durango evaded the cops by turning off its headlights and moving across all northbound lanes. He even brake-checked officers and avoided stopsticks. However, the chase ended when the Durango ran out of gas.

According to CBS News, the driver jumped out and ran, fleeing for K-9 officers and a drone. A man matching his description was spotted minutes later entering a stolen Nissan Rogue. The cops immediately began pursuing the Rogue and managed to catch it with stopsticks.

Due to the SUV’s damage, the driver and passenger got out and tried running away again. This time the K-9 officers got them via taking a bite out of crime.

There is an ongoing investigation into this vehicle heist. Anyone with related information is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 734-2540-7530.
