Police bust $3 million Jeep and Dodge chop shop ring in California

If you’re a victim of a stolen Jeep Trackhawk, Dodge Charger, or Dodge Challenger model then police may have just found what’s left of your car.

Police officers in Fresno, California busted a chop shop involved in a $3 million ring. The shop specializes in Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, and Jeep SRT parts and has been extremely active during the past six months.

According to The Drive, the ring involved a shop in Fresno and Huntington Park. They either sold or were in possession of $3 million in stolen goods. About 75 vehicles were found along with tons of parts.

The Career Criminal Auto Theft Team (CCATT) has been conducting a six-month investigation into the matter. Now they have arrested seven suspects and made 110 felony counts. But the investigation is ongoing, so more arrests could be made.

They found cars in pieces and piles. They found Dodge Durango Hellcat models, Chevrolet Cameras, and Infiniti models. But most of the stolen vehicles were Charger, Challenger, and Trackhawk models.

It’s unclear if the ring was part of a larger organization, but more information is likely on the way. Two suspects currently remain at large and roughly 51.7 of the state’s stolen vehicles came from southern California.

Some people hope that the recovered vehicles and parts will be auctioned off.
