There are millions of plane passengers each year. Of course, these people who decide to travel with commercial airlines know that almost anything could go wrong. However, a group of Frontier passengers are now suing the company after being trapped on a smoky airplane for an extended amount of time.

These plane passengers feel they were left in unsafe conditions

Many people decide to travel with Frontier Airlines. After all, it’s among the most trusted commercial airlines out there. According to Business Insider, there were 197 plane passengers on an October 5th flight from San Diego to Las Vegas. Sadly, the Airbus A321 experienced a brake fire upon arriving at the airport. However, the airplane had an odor before they knew the exact problem.

Of course, the pilots declared an emergency. However, there were issues with the communication tools. Sadly, the situation worsened for the plane passengers as temperatures rose and the aircraft is said to have been filled with smoke. Additionally, the passengers felt “the violent impact of the landing” due to the issues with the brakes. Of course, emergency services put out the fire, and the passengers were evacuated.

Now, the latest is that 19 of the plane passengers are suing the airline. The filing says they were “held on a sweltering smoke-filled aircraft for nearly an hour.” Apparently, this happened because the firefighters told the pilots that the smoke was no longer present on the plane. The plaintiffs are accusing the airline of negligence and are requesting no less than $15,000 for general and specified damages, lost wages, and legal fees. Frontier Airlines has not responded to the lawsuit, but an ongoing investigation exists.

Of course, this story does not mean flying with Frontier Airlines is dangerous. It was simply a mechanical issue, and there seems to be an issue of miscommunication between the pilots and the firefighters.
