This traffic stop on a new Kia Sorento unearthed a world of illegal activity

According to WHIO, Ohio State Troopers recently conducted a traffic stop on a new Kia Sorento. It’s unclear if they noticed an infraction or if it was simply a routine stop. However, while conversing with the driver, who is named Antoine Phelps, the police officer saw a residue on the passenger seat that resembled narcotics. Of course, this means that they decided to search the vehicle as well as the driver.

During the traffic stop, the police conducted a pat down of the driver. This pat down uncovered a large amount of meth. In total, he had about 200 grams of the illegal hard-core drug on his person. The report says that this amount of meth has a street value of about $20,000, which means he probably had intent to distribute it in some way. Specifically, he had this in his pockets. Of course, the police seized the drugs and then took the driver to the Scioto County Jail.

Now, Antoine is facing some severe penalties following the ill-fated traffic stop. He has multiple first-degree felony charges, including drug possession and trafficking. If the courts convict him, he’s facing 22 years behind bars and a fine of $40,000.
