Ohio senate candidate awkwardly lies about selling Chinese SUVs
Wow, I have another wild story about an Ohio man already. Senate Candidate, Bernie Moreno, is being weird about his General Motors dealership by straight-up lying. He claims to voters that he never sold Chinese SUVs.
Ohio senate candidate lies about selling Chinese SUVs
The battle for the United States Senate is being watched as Republican challenger Bernie Moreno attempts to defeat incumbent Democrat Sherrod Brown.
Both men regularly speak about the threat China poses to manufacturing jobs in Ohio and other regions of the United States.
Moreno claims our middle class was literally sold to China so that rich people could make money selling cheap garbage from China.
However, he used to own a GMC Buick dealership in Beachwood, Ohio. Despite owning the dealership, he maintains that he refused to sell Chinese SUVs, like the Buick Envision.
General Motors owns Buick and models are manufactured all over the world. The Encore is built in Korea, and the Enclave is assembled in Detroit.
Moreno stated in an interview that the Buick Envision is made in China, so he told General Motors that he wouldn’t sell them and not ship any to him.

He claims that refusing to let GM ship him any of those SUVs resulted in GM threats. It allegedly said it would take his franchise away. It cost him millions, but he didn’t care because you either stand on a principle or stand on nothing.
However, according to NY1, drivers immediately started coming out of the woodwork to share that they purchased Envision models from his dealership.
Reportedly, he even provided ads and enticing discounts by offering Buick Envision models for $279 a month with zero down.
General Motors didn’t share if they actually received a letter from Moreno about the Envision models. But it did ship Envision models to his dealership between 2016 and 2020.
Documents show that he sold Envision models and promoted them through 2019. He clearly profited off of selling them and boasts that his dealerships created jobs. So, what’s with the lie?
