South Carolina mom hits husband with SUV and has her kids grab him
35-year-old Brittany Rose Hernandez is accused of attempted murder after allegedly striking and dragging her husband with a Chevrolet Traverse SUV.
According to The Mirror, the couple had been fighting and pulled into a parking lot on Forest Drive. Hernandez went into a store for alcohol and returned to the SUV.
Then her 44-year-old husband got out and she followed him. He was walking away when she made a sharp turn and hit him. He was dragged under the vehicle for about 10 feet before she stopped.
Two minor children jumped out of the back, grabbed their dad, and put him in the SUV. Then it drove off. A witness saw the event and called the Forest Acres Police Department. Once officers arrived, the Chevy Traverse was long gone.
During an investigation, detectives found that the incident was captured on a surveillance camera and corroborated the witness’s story.
Officers tracked Hernandez down at the family’s home the next day. Her husband was found inside, suffering from serious injuries.
However, his wife never took him to the hospital. As a result, he was quickly rushed to a local hospital and his current condition remains unknown. Hernandez was booked into the Richmond County Jail and charged with attempted murder.
The husband’s name and children’s ages have not been released and Hernandez has a bond hearing set for Friday. Hopefully, the kids have a safe place to stay as their father recovers.
