The Kia Telluride hybrid got pushed back until 2026
I have good news and bad news about the Kia Telluride Hybrid. The good news is that it’s actually happening. Soon, the Telluride will be sipping fuel with plenty of power.
However, the bad news is that it’s no longer expected to arrive for the 2025 model year. It was pushed back until 2026, meaning we have to wait even longer for it to finally come out.
Along with the improved powertrain, the Telluride Hybrid will be rocking a total refresh. It will gain a new exterior style with revamped headlight and taillight designs. Plus, it will have an updated grille, new colors, and unique wheel designs.
You can also expect a revamped interior with a modern style and advanced tech. It will probably get bigger screens, a new digital gauge cluster, better cameras, updated charging pads, and improved safety features.
The Kia Telluride just came out in 2019 as a 2020 model. Then it received a mid-cycle refresh in 2023. So, it still feels new and modern. It doesn’t exactly need a new style just yet.

It’s unclear why the Telluride Hybrid got pushed back. Perhaps the focus was placed on getting the Kia EV9 out first. Also, inflation and supply chain shortages could have had an impact.
Rumors suggest that Hyundai is still working on building a new hybrid engine for the Palisade and Telluride. According to Top Electric SUV, the new engine could be based on a 2.5-liter turbocharged gas engine.
It will be paired with an electric motor and a battery. Plus, it will be larger than the hybrid unit that’s currently in the Kia Carnival and Sportage Hybrid. The engine could provide up to 30 mpg, which is on par for the class.
Stay tuned for updates!
