You can buy a Hyundai from Amazon if you live in these 48 cities
There’s a reason car salespeople have a bad reputation. Most people who go to a dealership abhor it. They dread it. Most would rather go to a dentist than buy a car from a dealership because they anticipate being taken for a ride by either a salesman or the finance department.
Well, Amazon Autos aims to change that by eliminating 99.9% of the in-person buying experience. Instead, the browsing, shopping, model, and trim level comparisons can all be done online. Of course, if a buyer has questions they can contact a specialist, but they’re not being shadowed by a commission-hungry salesman.
Even the trading-in process (if applicable) and the financing application and term agreements can be determined, approved, and completed online. A buyer can decide on add-ons, warranties, and service contracts without speaking to another human.
Hyundai, the Korean automaker that has gone through a renaissance recently, is the first brand that agreed to partner with Amazon to sell its products, so for right now, you have to want a Hyundai.
You can have your car same-day in participating cities
After everything is determined, approved, and signed, a contract is sent to a buyer within three hours of the purchase. Once received, a dealership is chosen, then they drive over and complete the trade-in (if applicable), sign the contracts, get the keys, and drive home with a new Hyundai.
“We’re excited to have Hyundai as our exclusive launch partner and look forward to welcoming more brands and expanding our selection to customers as the program grows,” Fan Jin, global head of Amazon Autos, wrote in a release.
“It’s still early for us and we welcome customer and dealer feedback as we continue to add new functionality, expand to additional brands, and iterate on the customer experience.”
The program is in beta right now, but Amazon plans to make it a permanent service depending on customer feedback.
