One second, Guy Fieri’s Lamborghini was in a San Francisco dealership for service. The next, it was gone. The thief? A 16-year-old who broke in like a Hollywood action star, repelling from the roof and cutting through locks with bolt cutters. But instead of flipping the stolen supercar for cash, Max Wade did something truly unhinged.

He kept it.

For over a year, the high school dropout drove around Northern California in Fieri’s banana-yellow Lamborghini. Cameras caught him cruising the Golden Gate Bridge. People called Fieri nonstop, saying, “Dude, I just saw your car!” Fieri reassured them: “Believe it or not, there is more than one yellow, convertible Lamborghini in Northern California.” Turns out, the kid had been joyriding the entire time.

“We got calls all the time, and I mean all the time,” Fieri admitted. “To come find out that he was driving it? Brave kid!”

But Wade wasn’t just a car thief—he was a full-blown teenage criminal mastermind. He ran a hustle selling fake IDs. One of his customers was a girl he was obsessed with. He’d reportedly stolen the supercar to impress her. But she wasn’t impressed. She was even dating someone else. And Wade didn’t take rejection well.

The teenager who stole Guy Fieri’s Lamborghini goes full villain

Instead of letting the rejection go like a normal person, he grabbed a gun and went full villain. He ambushed the girl and her boyfriend, opened fire on their truck, and nearly killed them. Somehow, they escaped with only minor injuries.

The botched attack led police straight to Wade’s storage unit. That’s right, this wannabe tough guy already had a villain’s lair. Inside? A stash of weapons, burglary tools, and—of course—Guy Fieri’s Lamborghini.

By then, Fieri had already settled with his insurance company. He had bigger fish to fry. But Wade’s joyride was over. Convicted of attempted murder, grand theft auto, and weapons charges, Wade was sentenced to life in prison. A kid who wanted to live like a movie villain got the third act he deserved.

Meanwhile, Fieri—who built his empire the honest way—has moved on. Maybe he’s rolling in another flashy supercar. Perhaps he’s just enjoying his classic muscle cars. Maybe he’s busy scouting the next great location for Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Either way, this Guy is still winning. Wade? He got stuck with the worst dish on the menu—life behind bars.
