Ford is missing from the list of 2025’s most reliable trucks
I don’t want any trucks to get bullied. However, Ford trucks might get made fun of for not making it on the list of 2025’s most reliable trucks. The F-150, Ranger, and Maverick are missing as a close rival sweeps almost every single category.
Ford didn’t make it on the 2025 list of most reliable trucks
J.D.Power released its annual vehicle dependability study and the most reliable trucks for 2025 don’t include a single Ford option. This is a little weird because Ford builds many great trucks, big and small.
According to the results, the Toyota Tacoma is the most reliable mid-size truck, followed by the GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado. Then the highest ranking full-size truck is the Chevy Silverado 1500. It’s followed by the GMC Sierra 1500.
Next, the highest-ranking heavy-duty truck is the Chevy Silverado HD, followed by the GMC Sierra HD. General Motors trucks won every category but one. Only the Toyota Tacoma was able to claw its way in.
The rankings are based on vehicle problems reported by owners after three years of ownership. Each vehicle is judged by problems per 100 vehicles.
There are 184 specific problem areas including climate, driving assistance, driving experience, exterior, feature, infotainment, interior, powertrain, and seats. It’s also the 36th year that this study has been released.
While the results conclude that no Ford trucks rank as the most dependable option, it also shows that problems are increasing. There was a 6% increase in problems compared to last year, mostly related to tech defects.
