Sometimes, the third time is the charm. But not when it calls the truck recalls! Then the issue is supposed to be corrected the first time around. The Ford Maverick is being recalled for a third time over an issue that dealerships have failed to fix twice.

The Ford Maverick has a third recall due to a sudden loss of power

My heart goes out to Ford Maverick drivers who have already taken their trucks in for service twice due to the risk of suddenly losing power. It looks like owners might have to take their trucks in for service a third time as the previous fix actually failed.

First, Ford issued a recall for about 456,565 vehicles in April 2024 due to the unexpected loss of drive power. The onboard computers failed to detect changes in battery charge or low state of charge.

As a result, Ford Maverick trucks could lose accessory power, stall, or fail to restart after stalling. The solution involved getting a software update to detect battery status.

In August, Ford realized that 757 models were updated as repaired but never received the update. Now, according to Kelley Blue Book, some trucks need to come in a third time. Reportedly, they still haven’t received the correct update.

Dealers have a new way to determine if the update has been correctly installed this time. While the recall is free, it’s still pretty frustrating when they take up your time three times in a row. Hopefully, this time the problem really gets corrected.
