What’s that smell? It’s a Florida man! A driver crashed his pickup truck into a large sewage pipe, causing a leak. Crews immediately responded to repair the pipe and get the leaking under control, but things got pretty stinky.

If you thought something smelled bad around North Naples, Florida, then you aren’t crazy. You may have been smelling sewage.
A male driver crashed his pickup truck into a sewage pipe at a lift station. The Collier County Police Department shared that the incident occurred near Cypress Way E and Heritage Way.
The truck driver struck another vehicle and then slammed into the pipe. Luckily, the driver and passengers in the other vehicle weren’t injured. But they were a bit shaken up.
They were victims of a hit-run-run as the truck driver sped away from the scene. Police officers drove north on Cypress Way E to try and locate the suspect. Then they discovered that he hit the sewage pipe head-on.
The suspect was identified as Bowers, who was unable to get out of his vehicle. He was in and out of consciousness and taken to a local hospital for treatment. According to Gulf Coast News Now, Bowers was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.
The broken sewage pipe was leaking water but didn’t cause any flooding. Utility crews were able to repair the pipe without having to set up any road closures. They had to dig to replace pipes and other broken equipment.
Sewage trucks continuously stopped by to collect waste as local residents complained about the odor. Brown water could be seen spraying in front of the wrecked truck.
