The car world is chock-full of options for vehicle owners. There are add-ons, various car modifications, and, perhaps most controversial of all, several extended car warranty companies. Much has been said about these companies and the coverage they offer regarding getting repairs from auto mechanics. Recently, one well-known technician took to TikTok to explain the problem with these warranty companies in detail. He’s most likely talking about the CarShield warranty.

Auto mechanics don’t like extended car warranty companies

Many auto mechanics have used their platforms to warn against the use of extended car warranty companies. Sure, they can offer a degree of protection. However, many of them find reasons not to pay for vehicle repairs. Recently, a mechanic from Royalty Auto Service in Texas took to social media and explained why drivers should think twice about getting a third-party extended warranty.

He starts his video by saying he’s working on a Ram truck that’s having some issues. Notably, it has a cracked radiator. He then says he’s dealing with one of the most popular extended car warranty companies. Of course, this mechanic highly suggests he’s talking about the CarShield warranty but doesn’t say the name.

In this situation, the Ram has a radiator leak, which should be covered under most extended car warranty companies. However, this mechanic says the company won’t cover it due to there not being proof of a coolant flush. The issue with this is that the Ram truck in the video isn’t due for a coolant flush despite being a little bit of an older vehicle.

As many auto mechanics have done, this one admits that the issue with these car warranty companies is their contracts. People get the coverage believing it’ll save them money in repairs, but the warranty contracts are worded so that these companies can avoid paying. This is why car owners must read their agreements and understand what’s covered and what the coverage excludes.
