Driving under the influence is one of the worst things a driver can do. However, it’s even worse when people decide to do this while driving in the snow, as it can easily cause car wrecks. Recently, one man in Louisiana did this and ended up hitting a squad car. Now, he is in jail with a DUI charge.

Driving under the influence is bad enough without doing it in the snow

The recent winter storm has brought unprecedented amounts of icy weather to Louisiana. Of course, this means that officials in the state have been warning against driving in the snow. Still, there have been multiple car wrecks since the bad weather started. Sadly, NOLA is reporting that one man decided that driving while under the influence would be a good idea. While doing so, the man happened to crash into a state trooper’s squad car. It was at a stoplight at the time

Luckily, no one sustained injuries from the car accident, despite this not being the case with many who decide to drive while under the influence. Louisiana State Police had this to say, “The driver, who should never have been on the road in the first place, was placed under arrest for DWI. Thankfully, our Trooper is unharmed, but this incident serves as a stark reminder of how dangerous the combination of icy conditions and impaired driving can be.”

Notably, the Louisiana State Police didn’t reveal specific details about the driver. However, we do know that the man is facing a DUI charge. As always, driving while under the influence is one of the most dangerous things anyone can do.
