Drunk driver is behind bars after crashing into a random yard and falling asleep
Driving under the influence is one of the worst things a person can do on the road. Of course, it causes several fatal car wrecks each year and can easily become a habit for people. Getting a DUI charge usually involves a traffic stop, but one recent story involved a drunk driver crashing into a yard and falling asleep.
Driving under the influence is never okay, and getting a DUI charge has serious consequences
According to 14 News, police in Indiana were recently called about a vehicle that had crashed into someone’s yard. The caller informed dispatch that the driver was asleep and that he was unable to wake him. This is a telltale sign of a person who has been driving under the influence. Naturally, this is concerning, so they sent an officer to investigate. Once on the scene, the officer was able to wake the sleeping man, who said, “I haven’t done sh**.”
It wasn’t long before the police officer noticed the smell of alcohol from the driver. Additionally, he showed signs of having been driving under the influence. This includes his initial statement. However, he refused to submit to standardized field sobriety testing. Still, the police apprehended the driver, identified as Tyrez Brown, 35, and took him to the hospital. Of course, he went to jail after this.
The police are charging him with driving under the influence. Notably, he also has a prior conviction and a suspended driver’s license. His bond information is unknown, but the good thing is that the driver did not cause any car wrecks while behind the wheel. Remember, it’s always best to make arrangements rather than to drink and drive. Getting a DUI charge is never worth it.
