Dealers drop Chevy Corvette prices to unload overstock inventory
Where did all the Chevy Corvette drivers go? Dealerships are desperate to get these cars off their lots, so they’re slashing prices. Isn’t it time for you to put on a pair of jean shorts and white New Balance dad shoes to enjoy the Vette lifestyle?
Chevy Corvette inventory builds at dealerships as sales decline
Dealerships are overwhelmed by Chevrolet Corvette inventory as they struggle to sell these iconic cars. The C8 Corvette is in its eighth generation as sales continue to decline.
Some critics think that the Chevy Corvette is losing steam as it launched in 2019. Rivals have introduced more modern models that could be stealing attention.
According to Robb Report, over 5,000 C8 Corvette models are sitting in the inventory system and most are from the 2025 model year. When this new generation first launched, it had an MSRP of $58,900 with hefty markups.
Now the markups are being replaced by massive discounts. The 2025 Stringray has an MSRP of $68,300, which is an insane increase compared to 2019.
But the discounts are taking the starting price to $63,185 and lower. One driver even spotted a brand-new model for $58,280. But of course, these prices don’t include the tax, title, or other fees.
Some critics think that drivers are holding out for the C8 Corvette EV, which is expected to debut in 2028. But in my humble opinion, that’s too far away for people to hold off on buying a new sports car.
The likely story is that Chevy Corvette got too expensive along with rising inflation. Perhaps prices need to drop a bit more.
