Stolen SUV is turned to the owner with a fresh wash and full tank of gas

Someone needs to leave a positive review for the Boulder Police Department. Their customer service is phenomenal.

Upon recovering a stolen SUV, an officer decided to give it a good wash and fill the tank with gas before returning it to the victim. Most cases involving stolen vehicles don’t turn out this way.

According to KKTV, a Boulder woman woke up to discover that her Honda CR-V was stolen. She filed a police report and officers got to work.

They spotted the CR-V at a gas station and watched the suspect fill the tank and pull it into a carwash bay. Responding officers took the suspect into custody at the car wash.

The suspect was charged with motor vehicle theft, theft, driving without a license, and driving under the influence.

But during the process, the police officers were glad that the Honda CR-V wasn’t physically damaged. However, it wasn’t exactly clean.

So, they decided to pay for a car wash and made sure it was sparkly clean before the victim came to retrieve it. Plus, she got a free tank of gas. The woman was only without her vehicle for a couple of hours. Then she got it back in better condition than before.
