Mazda is responsible for some of the best new cars on the market. However, no automaker is perfect, and a car recall is sometimes necessary for safety. Now, Mazda is recalling a large number of its most popular SUVs, including both hybrid and gas-powered models. As is usually the case, auto mechanics at Mazda dealers will fix the issues for free. 

Mazda has more than one car recall on its hands

Like most automakers, Mazda is no stranger to a car recall. However, according to The Des Moines Register, the automaker is issuing multiple recalls for the popular CX-90 and CX-70 SUVs due to various software issues. The first recall impacts 80,915 models from 2024 and 2025 with the Dash Electrical Supply Unit. 

They are recalling these vehicles because some features may not function during start-up. They include the defroster, 360-degree view monitor, and the PHEV high-voltage battery cooling system. Of course, malfunctions with some of these features could cause crashes. 

Mazda’s second car recall impacts 38,926 units of the 2024 Mazda CX-90. This one is being issued because a software problem could cause the engine not to restart after idling. This is related to the stop-start function, which could cause car crashes if a person is in traffic and the engine fails to restart. 

The third Mazda car recall includes 31,488 units of the 2024 CX-90 and 2025 CX-70 models. This one concerns vehicles potentially losing power while driving. Notably, the issue is caused by the powertrain and engine control modules. Naturally, this is also a dangerous malfunction that could cause car accidents. 

As stated, auto mechanics at Mazda dealers will be able to update the various pieces of software to fix the issues. The NHTSA campaign numbers for the recalls are 24V814, 24V815, and 24V816. Owners can also contact Mazda or local dealers with specific questions.
