According to Reuters, GM is set to recall 461,939 models over significant transmission problems. Specifically, the recall impacts the 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado, 2020-2022 GMC Sierra, 2021 Cadillac Escalade, 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2021 GMC Yukon. 

So, specifically, what transmission problems caused the car recall? The report says that the transmission control valve could fail. If this happens while driving, the rear wheels could lock up. Naturally, this is a massive safety concern that could cause car accidents. As mentioned, these models are often thought of as some of the best cars to buy, meaning there are several of them on the road. 

As previously said, auto mechanics at GM dealerships will fix the issue. They can do this by replacing the transmission control module. Additionally, they will offer repairs for vehicles that have defective transmission control valves.
