Let’s face it- no automaker is exempt from a car recall. This is the case because the manufacturing process for vehicles is far from perfect. One of the latest companies with a car recall on its hands is Ford. This time, it impacts three of the Blue Oval’s most popular vehicles that have a dangerous camera issue. Of course, auto mechanics at Ford dealerships will fix the problem for free.

Automakers and the NHTSA can both issue car recalls for any number of safety reasons. According to Auto Evolution, this one impacts some Ford and Lincoln vehicles that have a Magna rearview camera. Unfortunately, these cameras can experience either an “intermittent or persistent loss of image.” Perhaps the worst part of this car recall is that Ford has yet to find a fix for the issue for its auto mechanics to install. It’s important to note that this isn’t a widely complained about issue, but 72,624 units are included.

So, what vehicles are included in this car recall? This group of cars consists of the 2021 Ford Expedition, 2021-2022, Ford F-Series Super Duty 250, and the Lincoln Corsair from 2020 to 2022. Readers should also note that there have been no reports of car wrecks related to the issue. Ford will send official notification letters later this month. Additionally, once they have a fix, auto mechanics at Ford dealers will repair the impacted vehicles for free.

Some may feel that a camera issue isn’t worth a car recall. However, we have progressed to a point where many drivers rely on this device to reverse. Of course, they can still use the regular rearview mirror, but a sudden change like this can be jarring and cause people to reverse even when it’s unsafe.
