Some days, you’ve just had enough. A Boston ambulance driver hit their breaking point when being tailgated by an entitled Land Rover driver, a motorcyclist posted a video of the resulting brake check. Now the internet has weighed in with some delighted comments.

Reddit user Sound Wavin posted the wildly popular video to the forum “Idiots in Cars.” (Embedded below). It appears he was riding his motorcycle toward Boston City Hall and filming his ride on his helmet camera. He approached the intersection of Congress Street, hears an ambulance siren, and slows down. Like any responsible motorist should.

A white and orange Boston ambulance drives into the intersection, then slams on its brakes. A Land Rover is right on its bumper. The Land Rover driver must also slam their brakes to avoid hitting the Ford F-Series ambulance’s rear bumper. The Land Rover driver then tries to back out of the intersection, but is trapped by pedestrians in the crosswalk. So the Land Rover waits awkwardly while the ambulance starts off along Congress Street again.

The internet loved the fed-up Boston ambulance driver’s brake check

When the motorcyclist posted the video to Reddit, it went viral with 13k upvotes. One paramedic explained: “Former FF/PM, people would ride our tails all the time to get through lights, or traffic. It would be one thing if it were family members following behind us, but it was always some entitled idiot. In our city we had three different ambulances, and one fire truck get rear-ended in a year.”

Another commenter joked, “As a former Bostonian, I’m not surprised” while someone added, “This is peak Boston driving and i absolutely love it. 10/10 behavior from the EMT.”

One commenter had a novel solution to the epidemic of ambulance chasers, “They should have rear facing cameras. Hit the driver with the book. Red lights, stop signs, dangerous driving.” You can watch the original video embedded below:
