Bomb squad vehicle recently shut down the interstate after reports of a suspicious package in Pomona, CA
Most drivers expect some traffic delays, and this is especially true in some areas of California. However, what’s much less common is the disruption being caused by a bomb squad looking for a suspicious package. Still, this happened recently in the Golden State, and it caused widespread mayhem for drivers.
Bomb squad vehicles have made many situations safer, so a traffic delay isn’t the end of the world
According to KTLA, authorities closed all westbound lanes on the 60 Freeway on March 22. This didn’t happen because of a car accident. Instead, the shutdown resulted from a bomb squad vehicle searching for a suspicious package in Pomona, California. The report says that a Sigalert was issued at 1 pm that day and that the shutdown was initially only supposed to last for an hour.
The report about the suspicious package came in around 9:40 a.m. The bomb squad vehicle was on the scene by 1 p.m. to search for the parcel and contain the situation. Naturally, it’s unclear where the report of the package came from, but authorities are always happy to receive tips that help keep people safe.
According to the latest reports, the bomb squad vehicle, with the assistance of a robot and police officers, found the suspicious package and ensured that it didn’t cause any harm. The report says the closed freeway lanes were reopened just before 5 p.m. Of course, the nature of the device and the culprit’s intentions are unclear at this time. This is a developing story.
