Some recent Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models have serious transmission problems

Regarding some of the most popular used options, the Chevrolet Silverado model years between 2014 and 2019 are notable examples. This is specifically the case with the six-speed transmissions. 

Potential buyers should know there are other problematic years, despite this being one of the best trucks to buy. The 2020 -2022 Chevrolet Silverado with the 10-speed transmission has a car recall. This is the case because there is an issue with the transmission that can cause the rear wheels to lock up. Additionally, there is a class action suit over the Chevrolet Silverado models from 2015 to 2019. This involved the eight-speed transmission. 

Notably, the 2012 and 2013 models also have reports of transmission problems.

The GMC Sierra is often considered one of the best trucks to buy

The Ford F-150

Everyone knows that the Ford F-150 is one of the best trucks to buy. Yes, Ford has had some reliability issues, but there’s a reason this is the best-selling pickup truck. In most cases, transmission problems are not prevalent in the Ford F-150; however, the 2017 model has been reported to have some issues. Notably, the options with the 10-speed automatic transmissions experience problems. The same is true for the Ford F-150 from 2011 to 2014. 

According to Lemon Law Experts, ransmission problems in some of the best trucks to buy can include slipping gears, leaking fluid, grinding noises, harsh shifts, and the smell of burning something.
