Nowadays, many of the best cars to buy are all-electric. However, this doesn’t mean most drivers are ready to take the EV leap. Because of this, automakers and dealerships are searching for ways to convince buyers to invest in EVs. One of the latest methods comes out of Texas, where people who buy Chevy EVs can get free nighttime home charging for their vehicles.

There is a ton of interest in all-electric cars. Despite this, sales aren’t where most automakers would like. According to Electrek, drivers in Texas have one more reason to invest in a new Chevy EV. This is because dealerships across the state have a new promotion that grants free nighttime charging for anyone who buys one of these more efficient vehicles.

This promotion for all-electric cars from Chevy is called the Reliant Free Charge Nights. With it, people who have Reliant as their energy provider can charge their vehicles for free at home between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. The way it works is that people who meet the qualifications will get credits on their energy bills to offset the cost of charging their EVs. More than 150 Chevy dealerships across Texas are offering the plan.

Rasesh Patel, president of Reliant’s parent company, said, “We’re excited to help Chevrolet EV drivers offset the cost of charging their vehicle all while having access to a renewable electricity plan.” Additionally, Aseem Kapur, GM Energy’s chief revenue officer, had more to say about all-electric cars. He says, “The Reliant Free Charge Nights plan is a great example of how an automaker and an energy company can work together to make EV adoption an easy decision.”

As mentioned, many of the best cars to buy are all-electric. However, the stresses of charging are one reason many people elect against EVs. This new plan will help make deciding to go all-electric easier for Texas drivers considering an EV.
