People looking for the best SUVs to buy know that the Kia EV6 is one of the best options. This is particularly the case for those wanting an all-electric vehicle. This claim to fame is becoming even more true with the brand new model for 2025. Of course, the EV6 GT still takes the cake, but the SUV as a whole is an improvement over the outgoing model.

The 2025 Kia EV6 is among the best SUVs to buy, with its increased range, power, and anything but bland exterior

Many people are looking for the best SUVs to buy. Naturally, some percentage of people are looking exclusively at all-electric options. The 2025 Kia EV6 presents a compelling case for why it should be the pick. For starters, Kia is using bigger batteries. According to Kia, the entry-level model now uses a 63.0 kWh instead of the outgoing 58.0 kWh battery. All other trims of the all-electric SUV will use an 84.0 kWh battery.

Of course, bigger batteries for the new Kia EV6 models also mean increased range. The rear-wheel drive Light Long Range, Wind, and GT-Line trims should get about 319 miles on a charge. This gives an additional nine miles compared to the 2024 Kia EV6.

Regarding power, the entry-level Kia EV6 doesn’t represent much of a change. It still uses a rear-mounted motor with 167 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. However, the other trims, minus the EV6 GT, have a maximum output of 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. Those who opt for all-wheel drive versions will be treated to a vehicle that makes 320 HP and 446 lb-ft of torque.

Regarding the 2025 Kia EV6 GT, it has a maximum output of 601 horsepower in the Normal and Sport modes. The previous model made 460 horsepower. Things get more exciting in GT mode, as it makes 641 horsepower. As many looking for the best all-electric SUVs will know, this maximum output matches the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Like many EVs, the GT version also produces fake engine sounds.

Of course, there are other changes for the Kia EV6. Now, it has a 12.3-inch touchscreen instead of the outgoing 12-inch unit. The exterior is still futuristic and includes a new headlight design. It also has new wheels, with 19-inch and 21-inch options. This new model also matches current trends by using a NACS-style charging port.

Notably, all versions except the GT will come from Kia’s Georgia factory. It is expected to start around $45,000.
