How expensive is the 2022 Ioniq 5?

While the Ioniq 5 is not necessarily cheap, it does bring a lot to the table. The base trim costs $39,950, with other models costing about $50,000. This EV has four distinct trim levels. Allowing buyers to get the right amount of SUV for their specific needs. But, even the base model boasts a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a variety of safety tech.

The Ioniq 5 Limited costs $51,100. It comes with things like a heads-up display and a transparent roof. Plus, you get a little over 300 miles in electric range. 

Which Hyundai Ioniq 5 is best?

According to Car and Driver, the Ioniq 5 SEL represents a solid value. It offers a range of 303 miles and 225 horsepower. You can also opt for all-wheel drive, but that will add a cost of $3,500. This Hyundai SUV comes standard with rear-wheel drive. 

At its base price, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL has an MSRP of $46,250. It features LED headlights, leatherette seating, and a hands-free liftgate. These things come together to make a pretty solid offering. 

Should you buy a Hyundai EV?

If you are interested in the Ioniq 5, you might have trouble finding one. Only select dealerships are receiving allocations of this vehicle, so you may even have to travel out of state in order to purchase one.

That said, down the line this Hyundai EV should become available at more dealerships. And that will allow more buyers the ability to purchase one. The Ioniq 5 shares its platform with the Kia EV6. Marking a serious partnership between the two brands. 

Car and Driver has called the Ioniq 5 “confidently weird,” and to some, that might be a good thing. Plus, if you are someone who likes to do things like camping, the Ioniq 5 can handle that. It can tow up to 1,650 lbs, and it even has an onboard power generator. Now, it has earned Car and Driver’s EV of the Year award.
