Police officers in Madison, Wisconsin were called to a Kwik Trip after receiving reports of loose dogs. Something had them riled up as the group of 10 dogs aggressively attacked people.
The dogs bit eight people at the gas station, including one police officer and one firefighter. Also, this wasn’t the first time the dogs had attacked.
According to the City of Madison, the same group of dogs were involved in a previous incident where they bit two police officers in the Madison suburb of Monona.
The female owner of the dogs is in her 40s and was at the gas station during the incident. The dogs were living with her in a large vehicle, and managed to escape.
A family member got them back into her vehicle, but they got out again. She asked authorities to take the dogs to get the care they needed.
She was given 15 citations after officers got things under control. An officer shared that the aggressive nature of the animals required the use of oleoresin capsicum or pepper spray by officers at the scene.
Luckily, no people or animals were seriously injured during the event. It took about two hours to secure each fog and they were transported to the Dane County Humane Society.
The dogs were each of different breeds and sizes with a pack mentality. They wanted to protect themselves and their owner.
