We understand why you want a new SUV. Used models have the aura of the previous driver in them. There are mysterious stains on the ceiling, and you find crayons in the nooks and crannies. However, with the Hyundai Venue, you don’t have to spend a lot of money for that new car smell. Check out what makes the Hyundai Venue the best compact SUV under $20k

The Hyundai Venue Packs Value

Alright, plot twist. The Hyundai Venue is one of the only compact SUVs that you can buy new for under $20k. It has a starting price of $17,350. We know, it’s like Hyundai won a game of how low can you go.

Other compact SUVs have higher prices:

  1. The Honda HR-V starts around $20k
  2. The Nissan Kicks starts around $18k, providing some competition against the 2020 Hyundai Venue.
  3. The Ford EcoSport barely makes it under $20k with a starting price of $19,995.

Plus, the Hyundai Venue is a brand new model. So in your fresh new SUV, you will turn heads with a confident, sport look that people haven’t seen before. But the Hyundai Venue starts so low, it’s a little scary. Is it worth the investment?

Is The Hyundai Venue A Good Car?

The Hyundai Venue will provide significant fuel savings. It gets up to 30 mpg in the city and up to 34 mpg on the highway. However, it might not have enough kick. It’s powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 120 horsepower and 113 lb-ft of torque.

But it can still accelerate from 0 to 60 in 8.8 seconds, which is alright. Other options like the Nissan Kicks take 9.8 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. The Ford EcoSport takes 10.4 seconds to reach 60 mph, so the Venue is a faster option.

Also, the Hyundai Venue is only offered in front-wheel drive. But the Hyundai Venue does include an optional driving mode for snow. If you need or want all-wheel-drive, you will need to consider another option. Remember to add about $2k to that other option, though, because that’s around the average cost it takes to add AWD.

However, the boxy frame and low center of gravity make the Hyundai Venue a lot of fun to sling around town. It’s noted for having a spacious interior that is comfortable for running errands and work commutes.

You’ll find 19 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats, and you can access up to 32 cubic feet of space when the seats are folded flat. The dashboard has a modern feel, and the sunroof opens the space up even more.

Hyundai Venue Tech

The Hyundai Venue is loaded with modern features, including an 8″ infotainment center that can connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has navigation, dual USB charging, automatic climate control, and more.

While the Hyundai Venue is still being tested for official safety ratings, it’s loaded with features. Driver attention warning will alert you when you seem tired, forward collision prevention will help avoid wrecks, lane-keeping assistance will have you in the right lane, and much more. Best of all, these features are included in the base model, so you don’t have to pay to add them on.
